Kennesaw
Nestled between Marietta to the southeast and Acworth to the northwest along I-75, the city of Kennesaw is a place as rich in history as it is in natural beauty and small-town charm.
Kennesaw’s history is forever tethered to the railroads. When the railroad came through the area in the early 1830s, shanties were built on the land to house the construction workers, eventually leading to the name “Big Shanty.” Big Shanty was later renamed Kennesaw and incorporated as a city in 1887.
Today, this town’s 32,000 residents enjoy easy access to nearby shopping and dining, plenty of recreational opportunities, excellent schools, acres of green space and nature trails for hiking as well as affordable home values — all to be found just 26 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Welcome to Kennesaw.
