Airports—Alpharetta is approximately 35 miles north of the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, accessible via I-85. Nearby general aviation airports include Peachtree Dekalb Airport (18 miles south) and Cartersville Airport (40 miles northwest).
Public Transportation—There is no public transportation system for local Alpharetta, however the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) provides several bus routes from Alpharetta to trains leading to downtown Atlanta.
Major Roads and Interstates—Main Street (Hwy 9), Old Milton Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road comprise most of the primary streets for Alpharetta proper, while Georgia 400 (Turner McDonald Parkway is the main artery leading from Alpharetta toward the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. The I-285 Loop is accessible 13 miles down Georgia 400 at Perimeter Center Mall.
